A Rainy Day Playlist

By Jen Monroe

Spring is quickly approaching, which means in most places so is the rain. Being from Cleveland, the rain is actually a welcomed change from the snow we’ve been blasted with over the last 5 month span. Most of the time, an early morning rain makes me want nothing more than watching Romantic Comedies curled up in my PJ’s on the couch (which 90% of the time isn’t possible because I have to be at work lol). Needless to say I racked my brain to come up with a solution to get me motivated during the workday.

I am the type of person that likes to have a playlist for anything (being a “creative” music is an essential part of my day!) With that being said, it should be no surprise to anyone that I have created my perfect Rainy Day Playlist; it fits the gray skies and soft sounds of the water hitting the window.

In no particular order:

Over My Head (Cable Car) by The Fray

Never Let me Go by Florence + The Machine

Cannonball by Damien Rice

Crush by Dave Matthews Band

Only You by Joshua Radin

Young at Heart by Joss Stone

She Says by Howie Day

Last Goodbye by Jeff Buckley

This Years Love by David Gray

Back to You by John Mayer

Good Enough by Sarah McLachlan

You Wanted More by Tonic

Clumsy by Our Lady Peace

Hands Clean by Alanis Morissette

In Your Arms by The Last Goodnight

Best I Ever Had by State of Shock

As you can see, it’s an eclectic mix of artists with mostly acoustic sounds, which are in my opinion, perfect for a rainy day (to note, I could add at  least another 100 songs to this playlist, but I didn’t want to overdo it). What would you put on your perfect rainy day playlist?
